I was born and raised in Guatemala where I completed my medical career in the University San Carlos. After my graduation, I provided medical care and preventive medicine to communities located in rural areas in Guatemala. In 2013, my family and I had the opportunity to move to the United States where along with my husband have been pursuing our medical careers in California and at the same time raising three wonderful children. In 2018, I had the opportunity to become part of the UCLA International Medical Graduate Program where I received the necessary support to succeed as a resident. As part of the Family Medicine Residency Program in Modesto, I was honored to serve the underserved who left me many teachings, I also found a profound interest in Obesity Medicine that eventually became my area of concentration. In 2022, after completing my medical residency, I decided to join SFMG with the goal to provide our communities with compassionate bilingual and bicultural health care, and at the same time being able to continue working and learning with the residents and give back a little bit of what I received when I started my journey.
